Tubes

Tubes are a popular choice for product packaging. Because their multi-layer design can be made of a wide range of materials with protective barriers, including aluminum foil and ethylene vinyl alcohol (EVOH) film, laminate tubes are good for preventing product damage, leeching, or contamination. You’ll find aluminum-barrier laminate (ABL), plastic-barrier laminate (PBL), and co-extruded tubes in a range of industries, including food, pharmaceuticals, and cosmetics. Their unique characteristics offer advantages, depending upon the product you need to package.

E2Global’s Tube Packaging Capabilities

At E2Global, we leverage our years of industry experience with our extensive network to ensure competitive prices on high-quality customized solutions. With state-of-the-art technology and a personalized approach that gets our team members involved early in the design stage, we offer rapid turnaround on innovative products and turnkey solutions that include production, packaging, and delivery of your product. Our customer service is second to none, and we’re based in southern California to best serve both our domestic and our international clients.

Our fabrication methods include extruding (co-extruded and monolayer tubes) and forming [ABL, PBL, metallized-PET laminate (MPET), and aluminum (AL)] tubes. We work with a wide range of materials designed to offer the solutions your products need:

  • Aluminum (AL)
  • Aluminum-Barrier Laminate (ABL)
  • Coextruded HDPE w/ EVOH
  • Coextruded MDPE w/ EVOH
  • Coextruded LDPE w/ EVOH
  • Coextruded ULDPE w/ EVOH
  • Monolayer HDPE
  • Monolayer MDPE
  • Monolayer LDPE
  • Plastic-Barrier Laminate (PBL)
  • MPET

Most tube projects have a production volume MOQ of 10,000, though certain projects may be higher depending upon the materials used or the size of the product itself, with lead times ranging from 40-50 days. We also offer secondary packaging to help you complete your project.

Types of Tubes E2Global Manufactured and Industries Served

Your product, project requirements and your brand image will help determine the type of tube you need. ABL tubes, for example, are cost-effective, highly customizable, and are a preferred choice for adhesives, oils, antiseptics, toothpaste, and more, while PBL tubes are used for a range of food, pharmaceutical, and cosmetic products. Co-extruded tubes offer a more refined look and are commonly chosen for high-end cosmetics.

  • Coextruded Plastic Tubes (CoEx): Customize CoEx tubes with up to six colors via offset printing, screen printing, or labeling; foil stamping is also an option. They’re typically designed to stand on their cap, but there are other cap options available.
  • Aluminum-Barrier Laminate (ABL) Tubes: The aluminum barrier layer offers protection against light, air, and moisture, and is layered in between a polyethylene two-layer and co-polymer on each side. It’s the go-to packaging choice for toothpaste. Because it doesn’t return to its original shape after it’s squeezed, it’s a great choice for dispensing products like toothpaste, ointment, and more. Customize your ABL tube with a glossy or matte finish, up to six colors (and varnish), or hot or cold foil stamping of gold, silver, and other colors.
  • Plastic-Barrier Laminate (PBL) Tubes: PBL tubes can be in both monolayer and multi-layer configurations. In a multi-layer configuration, the protective barrier layer is ethylene vinyl alcohol or EVOH, which Is an effective solution for projects that require reduced oxygen transfer, permeability, and leachability. PBL tubes hold their shape and are similar to extruded tubes in that they are the same construction just manufactured flat and seamed to create the tube shape. PBL tubes are commonly used to package lotion, shampoo, sunscreen, and more. These tubes are white or transparent, with a glossy or matte finish, printing of up to eight colors, hot or cold stamping, and a top-sealing membrane.
